Sportex's are only mild steel so it'll be quieter than the one you have now if its stainless steel.

Ashley and Sportex are both mild steel with stainless tips.
I had an ashley on my old one and thought it was epic

Ahh didn't realise you had a straight through. In that case I wouldn't got for a sportex backbox. They are bloody loud without middle boxes. I a sportex straight through on mine and loved it. But if you don't want it loud I wouldn't recommend it.
Another vid This time a 1.2 16v corsa with a straight through + sportex back box to give you an idea

If you want it quieter you'd be better off buying a new middle section mate, sportex do them with a small silencers in place which will quiet it down a fair bit
