the tyres that have been fitted to my new alloys are 225/40/18's on the drivers side rear, it is catching really bad, so much so that it has knocked the lip of the rear arch out and has started to shred the tyre right on the edge of the tread. now i was looking to see if i could get maybe some 30 profile tyres but i cant find any, either 205 or 215's does anyone know where i would find some?

225/40 to 205/30 will be a huge change in tyre size. How wide is the wheel?

8 is the width. the J has nothing to do with it.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

you won't want 205 tyres on 8 inch wide wheels. especially seeing as you have kids. safety and all.
