The only way your stomache becomes more "toned" is by the resulting drop in bodyfat. You can do ab crunches until your rib cage bursts but you'll only end up looking more bloated as the increased muscle mass you'll be creating in your abs will just push out on the bodyfat that's already there.

If you're not willing to change/improve your diet then there's not alot of point in doing it IMO
