Lewis played a blinder with the start and did a solid drive throughout. But McLaren were seriously wrong with keeping Lewis out on the slicks, which resulted him dumping it in the gravel, and should have pulled him in for inters a lap or two earlier.
I disagree, a lap earlier could have ripped the tyres apart by the end of the race; it was only wet on approximately 30% of the track on the previous lap - it was a risk yes, but a risk worth taking to ensure the inters lasted until the end of the race.
I also think the reason he went off was because he was on the radio to Mclaren immediately before the corner; slight lack of concentration entering the corner whilst speaking to the team about the safety car, carrying too much speed and ran wide; Webber and Kubica managed to stay on track in the same conditions and same tyres.
