tbh mate that will incur a huge amount of interest compared to taking it over 1 or 2 years.
i think the lowest apr right now for personal loans is 7.8% from tesco/sainsburys.
also, low amounts tend to have higher apr compared to bigger loans such as 8k+
plenty of loan calculators on the net and moneysupermarket.com is perfect for these things.

if you have an excellent credit rating, then zopa loan do 11.4 fixed rate on £2000 over 5 years at £43.30 a month, total repayable £2598.

I didn't look around much admittedly, but Halifax (who I bank with) for a £3k loan, was something like 28% APR, from the quote I got, so like Ben said you'll more than likely be getting a bit screwed over without taking out a big amount.

Why the fuck would you want to borrow 2k over 5 years. As pointed out the interest would be ridiculous. Might as well get an interest free credit card and pay it off over 12 months - wouldn't cost you anything that way.

seriuosly, just get a credit card with two grand limit, if you havent paid it in a year then get another and do a balance transfer, oh and when you have used the card to get the 2k destroy it so you dont go spending anymore on it
