When I try to put petrol in my car (96 Reg), the pump clicks like the cars full, even when its empty. This means it takes me f00king ages to fill up.
I was told its something to do with blockages in the fuel-pipe thing, so the vacuum is effected.
Can I sort this out on my own, or is it a job for the garage?
Anyone else had this?

i had this in a lot of cars, i just learnt to straighten up the pump, push it down into the filler, then try and make the handle as vertical as possible.
Its usually fuel splashing on the sensor

same happened to mine but just staighten the hose out more so it was horizontal and now flows nicely without clicking.
basically instead of putting the hose all the way into the petrol hole, put about half in and then push it downwards so that its more horizontal..... it should now flow ok
