I've been meaning to go for a while. The problem is that you still need to go when there's snow which means you need to be able to get up there within about a day or twos notice. The runs wont be large or long either...

I have some friends who went last year and loved it

I'm in the Alps over Christmas/New year but if you fancied a road trip in February/March I'd be game on!

My cousin went snowboarding at Glencoe think it was either start of this year or end of last year. Said it was alright. But he lives in Carlisle so can go up there and back in a day when he knows the snow is there.

Cairgorms is the one to go to in aviemore if you go. I go every year ands pretty good. Never been skiing abroad so no idea on comparison of runs but i'd say it would take you a good 10 minutes to ski top to bottom on one run then maybe about 15 minutes on another run. Just depends on your level. I'd say i say i was a bit above intermiediate and i enjoy it!

you certainly wont get the miles of piste like in Europe but its a great experience being able to ski in your own country. For the time of year you have suggested going usually the resorts in the east like Cairngorm or glenshee have better snow earlier.
Here's a good website that will keep you up to date and has lots of information on which resort would suit the best

Basically.....no

10 minutes up, 2 minutes down!

It can be quite good though.....there can be good snow, it's cheapish, and near-ish!

I haven't been for a few years, keep meaning to go but never get round to it

I spent quite a lot of time at Cairngorm this year and the conditions were great for scotland.

When its on your doorstep, its hard not to go. Even if the runs aren't amazing, it still better than an afternoon at an indoor slope centre!
