cheers guys.
I did look at some of those above and used 4plates.co.uk in the end.
They didnt have a wide selection of fonts, but did have something close enough to what I wanted.
Less than £20 without having to mess about and show any ID, happy days.

I use http://www.no1showplates.co.uk/ for mine, they put the BS EN thing in the corner if they're a proper reg too
Used them 4 times now, can't fault tbh. They made the ones in my avatar.

fancyplates.com was excellent.
Police round here didnt like my Legal Font with no space, also picked up on no postcode and BS number on them. Now replaced with legal halfords plates and no aggro.

ghey, have they really became that strict on number plates?
I will carry my spares in the boot, if they hassle me, I can swap the plates instantly and remove any aggro.

lol, ignorance doesnt get you past the law, he would simply give me a producer document making me change my number plates, then take it to an MOT station and get it stamped to say its been changed!
been there, done that and had the t-shirt a few times.
So long as I can swap the plates there and then and they find no other defects, he cant issue that document.
That being said, I think I was only pulled over for driving slightly too quickly and being a bit of a boy racer.
Driving a BMW 535D is probably a bit different now

Yeah you'll just get pulled for being a drug dealer instead.

I've got away with it a few times...
On my dads viper he has a usa style real plate in pressed metal, and the front is just G2 VPR spaced out on the stripes in black with no back ground!

The polcie also notify the DVLA now. Then the DVLA send you a form where you have to put legal plates on your car and take pictures of your car to attach to the form and return.
Failure to do this and they can confiscate your plate and issue your car with a Q plate.
Rectify it and get caught a few months down the line again, they can confiscate your plate.
I just have mine spaced legally now and it looks a lot better imo.

People with shit plates have ruined it for everyone else that just wanted a nice, plain, easily readable one.

exactly as i've ordered mine.
No logos, no italics, bolds, 3d effects, no borders, just plain easy to read text in a very slightly different font.
Hopefully i'll be ok
