1.6 is cheaper to do and cheaper to insure.
2.0 16v is faster.
Both involve as much work as each other and neither is easier to do tbh so you pays your money and takes your choice.

Well im a mechanic mate so not to much of a problem just wanna know how to get round the eps problem i have ???

Im going to be converting mine to either a 1.4 16v or 1.6 16v soon. but i believe you cant run EPAS with them engines and it has to be changed for normal powersteering so i keep being told but i may be wrong. so suppose thats another thing to add to the long list

Dont see the point in doing a conversion when you can already get it standard

You can use your EPAS if you want Scott If you did it just means that you would have to modify the new engine loom and existing 1.2 dash loom slightly. Then you just need to find a 1.4 16v non PAS front engine mount and the correct drive belt to suit
