ive got a second ps3 in my bedroom now but its harder to play cod because of lack of surround sound
dont want to spend loads on it.
was looking at the £50 ones you can get from most places but it doesnt have optical input
will it work ok with just the aux leads?

just aux will be stereo sound, as john said, optical will provide surround sound.
got mine hooked up with optical and it's brilliant actually quite helpful with COD too as I can hear where people are coming from much better

You get headphones that will accept optical and give you 5.1, more than 50 quid though.

Turtle beach headset makes more sense if you want it for cod..
You don't move much in the game so pretty pointless

I have noise cancelling surround sound Sony headphones i use for COD, works wonders with Sitrep pro as you can hear exactly what direction the enemy are coming from.

As said, Turtle Beach headphones come highly recommended. I was playing with a guy with a pair, and to take in to account the fact I was cheating, he was pretty fucking good
