So everytime i come to the traffic lights and dip my clutch my revs drop and then rise to about 1300rpm and it nealry stalls when it drops :/ and the idle isnt perfect ( ive taken off the icv and cleaned it) theres a adjuster on my afm could that be worth adjusting ? tbh its really annoying me now thanks for the advice in advance guys

XE doesn't have an egr valve.

Mine was kinda the same as this, it would misfire badly and stall at junctions, lights etc. Is there an EML on? Mine ended up being the lambda, might be worth a shot.

Says he's cleaned it, could still be that though aye. I'm going with lambda sensor.

no eml ill had my lambda checked and they said it was ok its not a gm one though its an aftermarket one its not too bad when its been running for a while its just when its cold/warming up

Is the engine temp sensor new or been replaced? They can cause running issues without a fault code.

The coolant temp sensor ? yeah it has been replaced and come to think of it it takes ages to warm up on the temp sensor in the dash

The temp sensor on the dash is controlled off a seperate sensor.

On start up and as you set off does it make a really whiney noise as you accelerate?

erm no doesnt whine just the revs drop and it revs itself when i dip the clutch :s

does it need a new icv then ? as sometimes it idles ok when its warm i was on a 40 min drive today and when i come to the traffic lights it runs normally and sometimes revs but not much new icv needed then ?

Find out what's wrong with it, don't just replace parts one by one. Take it to a garage and get it diagnosed at least.

its annoying me now i had it in 1st with no accelerating just letting it go and it kangarooed horrifically and the same for reverse

i have the same problem and mine is the egr valve. unfortunately it took me a while to find that out because the light bulb had been taken out by the prvious owner.

if you're just going to replace parts wily nilly then your next bet is the AFM or lambda imo.
