hey all so the redtop has a miss fire and i cannot fathom out why fairly sure headgasket hasnt gone as only been done around 6k ago replaced dizzy housing rotar arm and leads plugs all look ok but still its there any suggestions as to what it could be? all help appreciated

Define misfire? Is it idling ok? What kind of revs does it misfire at or is it at any point?

it sounds ok on idle then as soon as push accelerator it misses sound slike a scoob

If it sounds like a Scooby it's probably not running on all cylinders. Had the compression checked?

Check all the ignition stuff again

Check the injector loom is pushed on and clipped down. .

yeah compression was ok will check out allo the igniton stuff tomorrow and ill make sure injecter loom is pushed down did the paperclip test for eml flashed up code 21 tps high voltage need to get tech 1 on it as i have no idea how tps would cause misfire but i dont know what year the engine is haha

Assuming it's the same head that came on the engine. Look on the cam clamp thingys. Look on the one near the dizzy or coil

couldnt find anything about a year will get the carb cleaner out tomorrow during daylight haha and have a proper look

If you take off the oil cap it's the one under there.

its an 87 engine i can only assume as thats the only number i found that related to a year thank you dudes can now get tech 1 on it doubt youll care whats up with it but ill report back anyway thanks again

Did you check to see if loom is plugged down. Cos when I got my engine the numpty didn't have anyclips in the loom. It baffled me for ages then turned out to be that. :s worth a push

doesent seem to be the problem get tech 1 coming thurs that will tell me the answer im sure hahaon another note the f*cker dosent seem to wanna start have a feeling master lead may also be knackered

i have thought about it then decided to forget about it haha ive got tech1 coming on thurs so that will tell me all i need to know hopeing something simple like air flow
