My car is currently SORN but this weekend i will hopefully be getting it MOT'd this weekend.

Now from what i've read online you have to send off something to become un-SORN and awaiting a letter of certification and other information has led me to belive that I can just tax it at the post office and fill in a couple of forms!

Does anybody know whats correct or any different?

Cheers

I was always under the impression you just tax it like normal, and it'll automatically become un-SORNed?

I thought that it would make sense to just tax it as normal and it would over right the SORN, i think i'll ring DVLA later and find out for deffo because i read somewhere its like 9 points if you get stopped for a SORN car, plus fines and car gets impounded!

Surely you can take legal action of some sort.

If you have a form that tells you about taxing, declaring sorn etc and it says once you have paid tax it over rights the sorn. if you keep this along with proof of your tax and when it was bought surely you wont get anything for it, unless youre trying to say its taxed when it wasnt just to get out of it.

Try and if you have got a Tax Disc, you've paid what they want, so surely they can't complain!

Just to clarify for everyone, just spoken to sheila from DVLA, lovely welsh lady....lol......erm and she has told me that you just re-tax your car as you would normally and it knocks your SORN straight off!
