with oulton park coming up in a few weeks and worried abvout the 105db limit, decided to ask my mate if he could modify the downpipe on my car and add a centre box. previously the wastegate was vented to the floor screamer pipe style. now its back into the downpipe.









its a bit quiter than it was before. sounds a fair bit different to drive actually.

Do you have an iphone or know anyone with one? Sure you can get a db meter on them

They take the reading parked up and you rev to 3/4s of your max RPM.

yeah ive got an igay and i actually have a db meter on it. actually never thought about it until you just said

No idea how accurate they are but should give you an idea.

I think mine should be ok but id like to get it checked just in case. Trouble is i dont know anyone well enough with a reet posh iphone to ask them to hold it next to my exhaust

will give it a check on saturday. id say its a load quieter than it was even just driving at say 60 and 30 mph.

maybe a bit yeah. its going on dyno in a fwe weeks so will find out then unless jdm can fire it back on if he gets some free time before next weekend.

smoothest place to make it enter back into the downpipe. the first thought shorter version would have been 90 degree into downpipe at a 90 degree angle to the flow.

or take it to a MOT station as i guess they use DB metres maybe?
