Bought this due to a possible change of job in the near future and we only had one car between us so needed a second one for me.
THink these are pretty rare compared to the petrols, few wee bits to do but nothing major, just an oil leak, front discs and a couple of wishbones.
The 2 reasons I bought it:

Aye 2.2DTi.. Goes quite well for what it is, pretty noisy compared to the Astra though.
Bought it off a local traffic cop randomly, pretty clean but the colour shows every wee mark.

Are they not all the same as that one? Whats the difference.
Looks like it might be getting sold after the docs are through and I've done a few bits and bobs to it, not looking like I'm going to be needing a car.

Late DTI and 2.6's have them
Where the fogs are the corners are squared off rather than rounded
See...

Why did you go for the DTis? They are bad compared to the CDTi's I have the 2.0DTi (Y20DTH not DTL) and it barely moves and is noisey as fuck And only gets 45 - 50mpg, considering the way I drive it (grandad) I expected better

Not as far as i know.
I had a 2.0DTi Vectra C so i dont think CDTI came in till the Vectra C facelift.

They did the CDTi in the Pre-facelift Vectra C.
Also did the CDTi in very late Mk4 Astra's.

Yea very late Astra's, only the 1.7 iirc.
Also heard bad things about the fuel pumps on the 2.2's? And not a small job to replace either I dont think.
Not wishing to put a downer on this purchase though Kano, you probably wont have it long enough anyway

Aye a knew about fuel pumps before I bought it, my view was that its done 105k so if it was likely to go prematurely it would have already. Also in 2 years of doing breakdowns I've yet to see a single DTi with a faulty pump whereas we see at least 1 or 2 freelanders a week with knackered pumps.
Anyone want it after its ready to go?

I wouldn't say this is far off my Astra CDTi in terms of performance to be honest. It wasn't bought to be quick though so wasn't ever an issue, didn't even test drive it.

As long as it does what you want it to do at a price you are willing to pay thats all that matters at the end of they day. The one great thing I will say about mine is we've had it over 2 years and the only things weve replaced on it (baring in mind its 9 years old now with everything still original) are glow plugs, front discs and pads and a couple of tyres.

It is really nice, a normally boring looking car which actually looks really nice.
Taxing it though
Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £110.00
12 Months Rate £200.00

Aye I couldn't understand the tax, bloody rip off, spotted that when I viewed it.
My 150 CDTi is £125 a year..
