I bet the vast majority wouldn't get why you painted your bottom arms blue. But that's just how things go, each to their own.

Fair enough, wasn't neccessary though. Just something you wanted to do, same as people fitting pressed plates.

Had pressed ones on the silver golf. Got pulled and fined took them off and never used them again. Sitting in my wardrobe i think.

Edit: Kind of pointless me having them too as the german font stopped my plate looking like BIG GEV.

Me too.

Standard plain plates with just the digits look much better.

And here - only thing I don't like is the size of them - i trimmed the ends off mine to make it a bit narrower, but they are still full size text, and standard UK Font

Don't like fancy fonts, logos, pressed ones etc

tacky? what the fuck? it's not in fancy italic writing and doesn't have a vauxhall logo in the background so how the hell are they tacky?

i hate people who use the word tacky

i had those exact same ones on my fiesta and focus and never got pulled once. they are very subtley different.

Will probably be illegal if they get the ruler out though if you've trimmed them.

IIRC,the plate can be any size you want,as long as the digits and spacing is to the legal requirement.

I stand corrected, after a quick search I can't find anything in relation to cutting them down as long as you have the correct size of lettering. I've definetely been told that by somoene though.

Minimum Border sizes need to be maintained IIRC - well, a boundary around the outside of the lettering

I ran one on my previous car that was cut a LOT tighter to the lettering than my current ones, my currents aren't massively trimmed, I just took the ends off;

Never had any concerns from Mr MOT or the Police about them

Been pulled over a few times, never even raised a concern over the plates - front and rear are the same size

My old one was cut all round, not just the ends and was much smaller, but again, never had any issue with it;

I'd never get the country markings at the side, make it look lop sided.

Needs to have a certain border around the letters, can't remember off the top of my head what it is though.

Country markings come in just behind italics and logos.
