i had my first downhill race on sunday, out of 37 people in my class i managed to come 17th with a time of 2min 01sec which im really pleased with, considering i only built the bike a few weeks ago and ive only rode it once previous too the race, fastest time of the day was 1min 51sec i think.

heres some pic from either my practice runs or Race run

i loved doing DH racing, i built a specialized bit hit 3
raced for years until i had an off and broke my collar bone and separated my pelvis.
Been thinking of getting another dh bike but doing it not competing.

Sweet, what tracks that mate?
I raced the SDA circuit when i was 15/16/17 then lost interest as i started to drive.

Had a few well specced bikes back in the day as well myself.
Had a Spesh Bighit, Then built a Mr Big ST-10, Then built an Intense M1 as close to factory team spec as i could with a few personal touches.

Hardtail wise i had an X-Ile, Then built a DMR Sidekick, and after that i built myself a Curtis Super-X.

Thought i was cool as fuck when i had the Intense with the Manitou Dorado's on it and the Curtis with the Dorado SingleCrowns, Both on yellow global racing team Mavic 521 Rims

Infact here's a few pics for your pleasures

the tracks a funny one, its the XC Black route at keilder forest, it took three years for the forest to let this race go ahead, this race was just to get the orginisers foot in the day so they have permission do built a propper DH track in the furture. to be honest even though it was a black xc route it was still fun on the DH rigs

I tried DH biking, mate taught me a few bits, but confidence was the main thing holding me back. (more than normal as I came off 20secs into my first downhill run)
