Where can I look for info on these? It appears I've acquired a 1993 mini cooper for free no engine tho so might be an excuse to go a bit mad!

Nope. E16SE's come in GSi's too, Up to roughly 92, they then changed to the C16SE's, which can also be found in astras and the like.

Straight in? not really.
It's not a mini if it's not got an a-series.

Just been to look at it, bodywork is in Really good condition. It's got a bit of rust under the rear window and the sill needs some attention but I'm chuffed. Need to start lookin for an engine, I think for now I'm gonna stick with the original 1.3 cooper engine.
Anyone know the best forums? Need to start learning what's what with these cars

You think these guys that spend their lifes doing conversions and learning too much about cars, fiddling with minis into the deepest of hours actually have lives? Or half-nice looking girlfriends. This is the real world!
