IMO you wanna be getting all the options you can afford, if for nothing else then when you come to sell it it will be better to have a well spec'd one.

agreed!

Do you want a fight because the tone of your voice indicates to me that you do?

Anyway at resale options make naff all difference it will come down to mileage condition and price not whether it has climate control or AFL

Spoke to astons sales and he advised me they are not making anymore arctics so only basic ones or one with a panoramic roof is available

His offer was no better than what I was offered at my Local dealer either?

Probably worth waiting for a second hand one then tbh. It's hard to justify the depreciation on them even though I would plan to keep it for a few years.

5 years ago my mate got a demo astra vxr with every optional extra, total repayment amount £24k!!!!!!!! hes still paying it off as we speak, if he was to sell it he would only get get about 7k. Never go for finance unless its free or you know you wont be paying it over a massive amount of time.

I went into our Vauxhall and the salesman literally persuaded me NOT to have finance/PCP and to go to my bank for a loan as a last resort.

He was telling me about a guy who came in a few weeks before, he bought an Astra VXR every option going, cost him £20K+, he worked for JCB and was made redundant the following week, he went back to Vauxhall and they offered him £13k for it. The salesman said he literally cried in the showroom.

This is the main issue with that kind of stuff, like my dads always said "dont buy it if you cant afford it with the pennies in your pocket"

Finance is absolutely fine if you apply a bit of common sense, otherwise you are thick anyway so you'd only fuck up elsewhere.

Exactly.

Quite like the arctic edition good-looking car but agreed on them looking dated now. 6years old now iirc.
If they where cheaper I would be driving one now. Astons werent prepared to budge on price or anything when I spoke to them

Looks like that Astons have a few decent deals although peoples reports on here don't sound promising.

If I went for a VXR I'd want xenons

Exactly. If need be, save up for a good sized deposit so if worst comes to worst, you won't be left with thousands in negative equity.

If you cannot raise 30% deposit then don't do it.

Or if you go for a PCP don't put much more than 10% in.

Yeah astons weren't budging on the price. I want one Awesome car but I need to save some more pennies first. It's just annoying knowing I can easily afford now but would be like throwing money away. New shape VXR will be out soon.
