MPG is better, tax is £20 or £30 for the year, model dependant, insurance would be cheaper, parts are cheaper, the dCi 1.5 engine is sooo simple to fix as well

Quite a few 1.5 DCI clio vans for sale around here, some of them are very nice too! Think its what im going to go for anyway, looking at this one so far:

http://inverness.gumtree.com/inverness/97/67686497.html

Few tacky bits that would have to come off, but would do the job

Edit, maybe not on the van, what a fucking price insurance is, £500 more than the astra

115bhp Transit

THE most comfy vehicle Ive ever been in, I do ~70 miles a day in mine and use £40 a week in fuel, loaded up though

nice high driving position, 2 arm rests, fantastic heater

pick a really really nice one up for 3k

Got a clio dci

65bhp model, 180bhp drop is hard going Managed to get 75+mpg with it though, averaged 60mpg on the way home with it so that will do nicely.

Not my picture, but here it is:

Very happy with it, little dent on the bonnet is the only mark to speak of on it, 100% standard .

Well it drives well, clutch is quite heavy but easy to get used to. Performance will be better than a 1.2 8v corsa, but damn it feels slow after driving the astra
