I can't belive how much insurance has gone up....i am only a young driver, 18, so i already expect to pay high premiums but its getting stupid! i was just looking at quotes on other cars as ive sold my corsa, and i cant afford anything. had quotes on loads and the cheapest i found today was a 1.2 corsa LS for over £7000 a year!! WTF! why has it shot up so much???? Does anyone know where i can look to get affordable rates, or how i can bring them down? help will be much appreciated. Rant over.......for now.

Is that with the company you were with before?
Do you have any bad history? Accidents, Points, convictions?
7000 a year for a 1.2 corsa is a bit daft - you must be able to find somewhere more reasonable. How many companies have you 'phoned'.
Elephant? Admiral? Adrian robbing bastards Flux?
Tried any of the gash price comparison sites? Confussed, Go Compare?
Tried the supermarkets, the AA, RAC etc?
Adding named female drivers also helps lower it
