Right, time to drag myself into the 21st century Want to have a bash at some promo video's for RD.

I've had a quick play with Windows Media player, but it's shocking - not the sort of thing I want to be posting as a promo vid!

Throughout the year I want to get these vids nailed - have ones that are part footage, part photos, speed footage up, slow it down etc. Not bothered about flashy animations, just fairly basic, classy ones.

Any suggestions as to what is fairly easy to master, yet gives good results? u2u links of where to 'obtain' from for 'back up purposes' if needs be.

Cheers

Did you try Windows Live Movie Maker or the old program that came bundled with Windows? Live Movie Maker is pretty good if you're just trying to put something together and not much more.

Premiere and After Effects (OSX/Windows), bit of a learning curve but after a day it's fairly straight forward. Plus Dynamic Linking is worth it alone, especially if you do a fair amount of compositing in AE as it saves having to constantly export raw footage.

It's just the standard Movie Maker that came with Vista. Wasn't aware of a different one tbh!

Downloaded a trial of the Sony one, so just trying that out atm.

I'd heard of Premiere before, but not sure I'd be able to get my head around it - the most complicated I've used in the past was Movie Maker

Ok that Sony one was a PITA to adjust how long things appeared for etc (imo) I just didn't take to it straight away.

Found the Live Movie Maker - playing around with that now, very easy to get to grips with! I like!

If it exists not bundled with video cameras I recommend Ulead VideoStudio.
