Anyone got one at home?

Was after a treadmill really, but haven't got the pennies for it, so thought about a rower instead, need to improve my CV and stamina, and it'd help with the upper body etc as well

Girlfriends dad has one of these

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ashwood-WaterRower-with-Monitor/dp/B000PS73YI

Its great, really quiet and smooth and you adjust the difficulty by adding water to the tank.

He's lost 3 stone on it over 8 months that he has had it, rows 4 times a week for between 40 mins - 1 hour a time.

My mate bought a treadmill off gumtree and got a really good deal. It was straight out of a gym who were refreshing their equipment and cost him buttons (under £100 but cant remember how much under, he's tighter than a ducks arse so it had to be a good deal!)

Rowing machines are probably a better bet if you have neighbours in a flat, depending on the flooring tread mills can pound the ceiling of the flat below quite badly.

I had not, want to get my stamina up a bit, I walk 6-7 miles a day as a postman, so i've got good general health, but want to get my running stamina up for Hockey, so ideally want a treadmill, if not, then thought rower would be the best 2nd choice.

I've got a York MAGAIR 3000 rower, would recommend it. Think you can pick them up under 100 quid on ebay, they're about 250 new.

Abut the same? i was rowing at around 700 kcal per houtr yesterday, then its about 100kcal a mile so if you can run 7mph...

Edit: i reckon a treadmill is better btw...
