I got a true 50 mpg on crappy winter Tesco diesel the weekend I went up to Liverpool.
Fair enough, almost the entire tank was used at 75 mph on the motorway though.
The trip computer did say something 58.5 mpg average though!

Lol, trust me I did! I do a 120 mile round trip a day to work (110 of which is motorway) 4 up as well and the trip computer was always hi 50's which when calculated was actually low 50's (that's cruising at 70mph) normal driving it averaged a true 44mpg but that was with me using the 215bhp.

Depends on driving style/journey.
I was/am lucky to get 40.

On the trip computer, maybe. They are notorious for over-estimating the MPG.
Unless he does purely motorway miles and cruises at 60-65 mph, I very much doubt your claim is correct in reality.

Thats actual MPG doing motorway/a road miles. My 2 friends with the hybrid'd PD130's still see near on 60mpg, just depends on your driving style

I agree, the guy I sold mine to is getting nearly 60mpg regulary.  I couldn't drive like that all the time hence I averaged less.

I used to get around 40mpg constantly which was mainly town driving with a heavy right foot
