Anyone know if Paypal protects the seller outside of ebay?
Im selling a pair of Virgin Hot Air balloon tickets, at the moment they're over £150, but worth closer to £250.

Some lady has contacted me asking to do business outside of ebay and she is desperate for her partners 50th birthday.

Im a bit dubious about it being such a large amount outside of ebay

If you have them on eBay, tell her you won't retract as you have had people asking the same and said no to them all (makes you sound like you are being fair)

Thing is, even selling through eBay nowadays barely means you are protected

As long as the money is sent for a payment of "goods" then I cant see a problem, your still protected. Just make sure you send them special delivery/signed for so they cant scam you by saying they never recieved the goods.

If you really feel the need to go through ebay, cancel listing and open a buy it now for an agreed fee.

Better still, meet them, or request a postal order / cash via special delivery for speed
