c20 xe 'redtop' idling problems. start car, revs sit ok then within a few sec's climb to 2500/3000 rpm. it pretty much dives ok, just this idle problem and its really doing my head in and costin me a lot of cash.

have already replaced the following:

idle control valve,
coolant temp sensor,
breather hoses,
power cap,
gasflowed throttle body,
inlet manifold gasket,
air hoses,
and its had a service.

anything else it could be????? any help much appreciated as im getting close to selling up now as been trying to sort this problem for nearly a year now.

Sounds like a air leak to me.

Under the throttle body, maybe one of the breath pipes, or brake servo. Don't know without being there.

Ok, will see if can find any air leaks. Would you be able to hear them cus everything sounds normal?

spray wd40 around various areas with the engine running, the engine note will change if theres a leak
