My missus's phone contract is due soon and as we're moving out I kind of fancy a PS3 or similar. I know there are plenty of mobile contracts out there where you can pick up a free sweetener as part of the deal. Has anyone done this, if so, who with and how did the contract compare?

No such thing as a free gift, Tom 
The contracts themselves are always lesser in terms of what you get, plus it's not usually a latest phone. If you can handle the phone, cost, mins/texts allowance, etc. then go for it imo.

I was looking on carphone warehouse for a new contract and they didnt give you a decent handset with any of the free gifts.

you're basically paying 40 a month for a £15 phone and contract, the other £25 is paying for your playstation. basically getting a ps3 on finance

Fair enough, i'm not too concerned about how good the phone is as long as she's happy with it (she can be pesuaded 'wow look at this...') so as long as the monthly limits/costs aren't too far away from what she's got now it'll be fine.
Anything to get a playstation out of it eh

Iv had two contracts off buymobilephones.net the first i got a free ps3 on 30 pound a month contract with a htc hero gen 1 and the second i got a nokia e75i and a free sony bravia 32inch lcd hdmi tv good if you shop around mate!
