Ive noticed a few threads from people who are buying/selling their homes.
I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone thought of their estate agent?
What makes a good one- how often do they speak to you, do they accompany viewings, do they give good advice/information.
If they aren't good- how would you advise them to be better.

There are one or two I have encountered in my area who I'd describe as knowing there stuff, especially when reviewing potential sales for development appraisals however the majority of residential agents are basically a bunch of overpaid clueless monkeys with limited knowledge of the market or the properties they are selling.

To be fair, theres not a lot to the job really. What makes a good agent is not knowledge but people skills.
Anyone can use a computer to find a couple of comparables and arrive at a 'valuation' - actually driving forwards sales is something I don't think can be taught.
