Ahh was just a long shot, so what is it exactly stopping the red coming back to normal?

The pigment of the base coat has faded and that is under the clear coat so can't be brought back.

Happens alot with yellow cars.

Older vauxhalls like a corsa b in flame red were paintEd with 2K so it's just one layer and not a clear over base like the Honda so they can be renovated easily.
