All being well, we will be moving into our new place in the next few weeks and one of the first jobs on the agenda is to sort the garden out.

It is quite a big garden with a lot of potential but currently has lots of overgrown plants and bushes that make it feel a lot smaller than it is. There is also a large unused space down the side of the house under the garage which I have no idea what to do with

Not sure whether to use the current set up and a base to start from and just tidy it up or dig up all the overgrown bushes and shrubs and start from scratch (at the moment, it isnt ideal for my little neice and nephew, dog, etc) Im thinking some sort of decking, a nice patio and a big patch of grass for the kids and dog to play on but not sure how to go about it.

Pictures below, any suggestions or pictures of yours for inspiration would be great

Draw yourself a scale layout plan and get sketching - the ideas will flow.

The difficulty (which might not be obvious from the photos) is the house is built into a hill so the garden isnt level which Im assuming will make it far more difficult?

Will be harder but can still lok good. Depends how adventourous you want to be, terracing it will give you more usable space as opposed to a banked lawn.

Damp proof course?

Not sure to be honest, the lower floor of the house is below ground level though?
