hi i have a momo steering wheel, when I took it off the column i didn't mark the postion well enough, now i think i put it on slightly to one side but is there a way of making sure the steering wheel is centrailised properly? My track rod ends both have the same amount of thread showing so have been wound on same amount of times. Just want to remove steering wheel again centralise the column somehow then just put the wheel back on straight and it should then be right.

Just ensure the wheels are facing dead straight then pull the wheel off and put it on straight, simples.

what about if the tracking is out?
is there part of the column i can make straight rather than the wheels so i can then have that as the reference point, a part that point directly up or down or horizontal?

oh yer lock to lock would work,
if the tracking is out (or i adjust the rod ends) it wouldn't affect the lock to lock positions would it?

Until you can't get it back on
My Dad had a mate who did this and it wouldn't go back on - he ended up in a ditch
