The Mrs did a few quotes to put me on her policy last week with various prodivers, we eventually ended up going through Admiral, yesterday she got this email:
"Dear Ms M****
A system check of your policy has highlighted that you gave different licence
or conviction details for Ashley Robinson when you obtained a quote from
Diamond prior to taking out this policy.
In order for us to ensure we have the correct information noted, please
forward a copy of their driving licence (front & back of photocard &
counterpart) within the next 7 days"
She called them and they said that on a previous quote she had entered that I held a provisional license rather than full. On the actual poicy we took out all the details are correct.
Don't know about you but I always do quotes saying im older than I am or that i've been driving longer, just to see how much it'll be. Anybody else had this happen to them?

I usually use a fake name if I'm modifying details like age or ncd etc. saves confusion like that

Some companies also apparently credit check you when getting a quote, I use fake details to get the quotes at the beginning because of things like this.

i always change my age to a year older if i'm looking at getting quotes for a new car.
how else would you know how much insurance costs? i'd ring up and complain that they have no procedure to do this.

How if you aren't giving them any bank details, just a name and address ?

Shouldn't need bank details for a credit check.

Yeah your right, just did a google and says that they do perform a check, however its a "soft" hit and doesn't affect credit rating.
