From a financial point of view, the cost and success rate (9/100 survive) isn't worth it. However, everyone deserves a chance at life.

EDIT: 1:35 onwards, jesus christ she's tiny.

We lost a baby at about 20 weeks.

Neither of us knew about the baby, it was misscarried/still born in hospital.

The MIL had to 'identify' to confirm it was a baby....the foetus had hands, feet, toes etc evident.

We dont talk about that day anymore and I'm still trying to blank it all out

my sister lost a baby at 24 weeks, she went into prem labour due to an infection and hole in her womb, sadly he baby died at birth but if he had lived he would have been brain damaged and wouldnt have had any use of his limbs as the infection had started eating away at them in this case i wouldnt have wanted them to try to save him, but in other cases of the baby showing all signs of being healthy beforehand then i would have to say yes do everything they can, its a life at the end of the day, no matter how much it costs to save the 9%

I did not say that.

Its right on the edge of what medical science can just about achieve, in nature's T&Cs for pregnancy, birth at that age should equal death. Its amazing they can alter that but everything we have historically trumped nature on hasn't had a high success rate.

I'm in the middle, can still be legally terminated at that age Plus the child wont develop fully and properly etc

My gf on the other hand said believes that they should be given a chance.

Can't quite make my mind up.

Watching the whole programme.. I can understand why parents wish to try with their babies.. Yet they are told they will no doubt be severly disabled. One couple on it just seemed to not listen to doctors advice and were determind to keep the ill child on life support, sadly they lost her 18 days into her life. I can also see that its a huge "waste" of money to keep these life supports and all the advance medicines to keep this very ill child alive for a few more days.

I cant begin to imagine how it feels for those who have lost a baby. My heart goes out to them and the nurses and doctors who deal with it every day.

I don't think money should even be a consideration.

Life and its preservation supersedes everything including something as stupid as money.
