time has come to rebuild the engine due to random knocking and running shite so got stuck in with getting the new forged pistons put in.






rods fitted onto nice new pistons



then spent the best part of an hour trying to get the new pistons into the block. tried about 10 times took the rings off swapped them round even snapped a ring. 3 pistons went in fine. had another look at it and found this.



went and picked some more standard rods up at weekend for 30 quid so not too bothered about it all.
more progress tonight hopefully

for the min with standard rods 270-280 maybe i dont know.

i can get steel rods if there the same as the small block 1400/1600 xes if any use? £260 a set with bolts

yea, them rods look almost as fragile as my standard ones did and mine maxed out at 250bhp.

you should jsut bite the bullet and get better rods now saving you the hastle of stripping it down again.

pins bigger 19mm instead of 18mm not sure about the big end size
