Bolt on, same wings, generally speaking more costly insurance.

Whos gonna bother pulling you for a badboy bonnet? But yeah you risk the possibility of 6 points for driving without correct insurance and no payout from the insurance company in the even of an accident...

Changing it from standard spec, more likely to be an agressive driver & post in wrong section.

Increased premiums.

It's not Police pulling you that's the issue, it's when you crash, leave the scene in an ambulance and your car gets towed then your insurance company tell your policy's void due to undeclared mods and give you a bill for the 3rd parties they've had to payout for, eg. other vehicles, whiplash claims, council property damage etc.

Plus points and fine for no insurance

Imo, really not worth it.

theres no risk of points. when you get pulled over the police cant just ring your insurer and ask if youve declared mods, its a breach of dpa. even then youre still driving with a valid insurance certificate up until the point your insurer void it.
however, in the event of a fault accident your insurer can (i say can because its extremely rare for them to actually do it) send out an assesor to inspect your car, and if theres undeclared mods they can invalidate your policy. at whcih point they can take you to court to reclaim any costs they have had to pay out

They would however be able to make a Section 29 request if they deemed it necessary. But yes, not at the road side.

Did it to me at the roadside to check if my mods were delacred.

They wernt. Expensive mistake which i wont be making again. £200fine, 8 points not 6 as everyone seems to think. Plus they towed the car away and i have to pay near on £400 to get it back!

Could you not just claim that you wasn't aware it was a mod? There is some very dumb minded people who would just think its part of standard spec
