took a job of fixing the in-laws clio and its ended up being a nightmare! it failed its mot on the two front balls joints and the rear spring, so I fitting the two front balls joints and moved on to the rear spring and the bolt that hold the rear shock to the axle has snapped, leaving me with half the bolt left in and nothing left of the bolt stick out really... Tried drilling but seem as thought I'm not getting anywhere. the abs ring off the front has snapped aswell is there any easy way to fit this? Thought this might be a common problem with an easy way out, does anyone have any ideas to help out?

weld a smaller bolt onto the snapped bit and take it out that way
thats only if you can get a bolt onto it tho

Weld a nut onto the shock bolt? unsure about the rest

Asuming its the ph2 clio I wouldn't waste any time trying to remove it, I'd order a new shock (will be about £15 if it's a 1.2) then grind the shock mount off.

The shock is off its the bolt that hold the shock to the axle has snapped and about 1cm of the bolt is still in the axle and drilling it is takes quite some time and doesn't seem to be doing anything, and I don't have a welder

those easy out posted from screwfix will be useles an will probly snap aswell. get a load of sharp drill bits starting small and work your way up the sizes untill your big enough to re tap the hole. it may take some time but as long as you have sharp drill bits it will do it.

Buy a carbide drill bit and drill as careful as you can using pleant of lube.. If you snap that in there you are fucked.

As davey said, should go through it.
Get a constant supply of cold water onto the the bolt/tip of drill bit else it will heat up too much and will blunt the tip alot quicker.
