They recently got a new dog (springer spaniel or something like that).
It keeps barking the house down whenever they got out and leave it - like this morning and saturday night between 8pm - 12am!
Now these neighbours are a bit chavvy and spend half their time shouting at each other, and let their kids run around in the streets getting up to all sorts etc. etc. we do say hello to each other whenever we see them but we aren't mates or anything like that and I (like half of the street so I've learned recently) just generally dislike them!
I'm tempted to tell them about their dog barking its head off whenever they leave it, but I'm unsure whether they'd give a fuck and just leave it by itself longer to piss us off, or whether they'd do something about it?
Not sure what to do?
You can actually hear the dog barking from the street when you walk past their house so you can imagine how loud it is when you're on an adjoining house to them - said house being a 1960s piece of crap with about as much soundproofing as a sieve.

I'd personally say something, be as forceful as you think it needs to be so you don't have to keep going back.

I do a lot of my work from home so it's actually affecting my ability to concentrate as well as sleep now. I think I will have some words next time I see them.
I think they are scared of me as well once the whole herd were running up and downstairs loads of times at like 2AM in the fucking morning (the mother, her boyfriend and her two kids who are probably about 8 and 12), I got so pissed off I got dressed and knocked on their door (actually make that leaving my finger pressed down on their doorbell continuously with me knocking/banging loads) and they never answered.
Fucktards.

1st step is talk to them or send a letter.
then you could print off the advice on noisy dogs from the council and post them that.
then you can complain to the council, you will have to let it go on for weeks while you fill out a diary of events and when the dog barks.
the council will send them a letter, this can take ages, then if it keeps on the council will do a sound survey of the street (which never bloody happens as people give up by then)
you just have to put up with it, or make your own noise and send them into a stressed/angry state of mind like you are now
then wait for them to complain to you, eventually they figure out what your doing and why.
1 month after wheelspinning they will replace all their windows with triple glazing and keep the dogs inside, and when walking the dogs they fear walking by your house for fear of being hit by a firework, french banger or a cloud of burnt tyre smoke

Kidnap one of the kids, duck tape his face and hide him in your attic.

At the moment I've got my hi-fi on to drown out the barking. When I next see one of them I'll have words. I suppose they won't know that it barks when no-one's there, but still they only just got the dog FFS he's upset/scared at being alone in a strange house they should fucking well know that given that they've had a dog before!
They are such retards honestly, the boy (older kid) is alright I think he's equally pissed off with living there so he spends most of his time round his grandad's house or hanging out with the older cool kids from his school, smoking fags rounds the corner and that
The girl (younger one) is a little spoilt shit who I want to kill.
The mother and boyfriend are a couple of pissheads. The bloke is a workshy tard, and she spends every fucking day shouting (really loudly) at the kids.
Their previous dog used to bark at her whenever she shouted!
I can't wait for us to move out of here TBH. This will be done this year or else I will be sectioned under the Mental Health Act!

one good point to keep making is that you don't blame the dogs, don't be angry at the dogs.
its all the owners fault

Ultrasonic Dog Anti-Bark Device + RC
The Ultrasonic Anti-Bark protection lets out a shrill ultrasonic sound that only the dog can hear. In this way you can train your dog to stop the constant and annoying barking. The device has a external power supply but can be operated with a 9 V battery. Thanks to the remote, you can mount the device even in inaccessible places.

Hmmm looks good but the problem is I have two dogs myself, so I'd need the other half to take them out for a walk whilst I zap the dog next door!
