I know they have sensors for people (like it notices movement etc. but if it's just a lead in the door it would still shut. reason I know this is because my cousin is a lift installer for OTIS and I asked about sensors before


But the dog ran through as it was closing, ergo doors would open again.

depends where the sensors are/how big the dog is, a lot of lifts have them at shin height, if it was a little rat dog, as i'm imagining it would be then it could of got under the sensors

The lifts in my office only open when they physically hit something, I have to stick my foot in the way to keep the doors open. You can still nip through as they close.

Some lifts just keep the doors open if it feels resistance, like car electric windows.

how long was the extendable dog lead, as they usually a lot longer than a lift goes up imo.

they are normally between 3 & 5 metres
