Was looking at getting one, how much is insurance tax etc, rough price, contemplating getting one to save money as cba trying to get bike license at the moment as u can drive a quad on car license,

Rough price all I'm if anyone knows, how much I would be looking for..

A) the quad, best type/make as mostly be used on road but want some power and noise
B) tax
C) insurance

I know there different types and engine sizes so say a 250cc rough prices I have been looking and kinda confused myself

Don't get anything with some slanty eye crap manufacturer. Stick to the big names. Insurance totally depends on person so do quotes. Tax isn't alot. About £35 or so. Remember you need proper saftey gear! Unless that is your a chav, pikey or polish scum that insist on not wearing any!

I don't see the appeal to be honest, I've said it before but they seem to take the bad bits from both a car and bike and combine them lol... I've ridden one and sure they can be a laugh but personally a bike gave me more of a buzz by a long, long way. They also seem to come across as 'chavy'

I rode my mates 700cc Raptor the other day and it felt gutless, even though it's 'race tuned' (whatever that means). It handled like shite (couldn't corner very fast without it wanting to turn over) too.

The only advantage I see is that you can ride them on a car licence and they take less skill to ride (compared to a bike), but in every other aspect the bike wins for me.

Plus I have no where to keep one, I put my bike in the back garden and couldn't get a quad in there which would mean leaving it on the road anyway.

Horrible things for Road use (solid rear axel) and stupid money to insure anything half decent.

agriculture use, my brothers boss has his raptor 660 as if it works on the farm. Can actually take a sprayer even though he has another bike for that.

I paid £190 with Adrian flux for mine but that was a few years ago
It's weird it's inbetween bike and car insurance and yes you start at zero no claims
Also they may stipulate you need a ground anchor even if it's in a garage/shed

I had to get rid of my rapter after only 6 months. New rapter 700 se4 was £376 fully comp. Bril fun specially when damp or wet, it will turn the most sensable driver into a compleat twat ( I can speek from experianca lol) you will just want to wheelie or go side ways every whaire you go. I went to crail one day and the misses folowed me in the car (it was pissin with rain) when we got to crail by fuck did I get dogs abuse, needless to say it was sold 3 weeks later. If I could get shot of the wife I would be straight out to get another one.
