..anybody done it recently online?

Says I have to sign up to some government thing. Is it easier to do it via a post office form, or just sign up to this process?

government gateway? I did mine online, pain in the arse signing up for the government thing though

Yeah Alun, government gateway something. I imagine it asks you for loads of shit I dont have to hand (Everything is in boxes).

I'll be honest I can't remember, I kept putting it off but when signing up for contracts and things having the wrong address on didn't help Car is still registered at my mum's address

I updated mine online a few weeks ago......licence was sent to me within the week. Very simple to do.

Still I forgot to sent it away to recieve my points DOH

You just need your driving license No & Passport No I think!!

Just done it, didnt know you could till i saw this thread, kept meaning to send it off lol, not too bad, jusrt make sure you have your passport and both parts of licence in hand

You'll have a government gateway log in if you do your tax return online for example.

Just do it using the counterpart of the driver licesnse, bottom of the page, fill it in and send it off with the card.

Dont need anyhting else.

Cheers pal, making me feel much better

Phoned up this morning, and explained to the woman, she said you'll just have to wait for the new licence to come out, and then re-apply with those details. She also said "That was a bit silly"

the daft part is that they are actually going to waste the time and money (albeit not much) sending a new licence to the address that it is already registered?!

I just filled out the paper part of my driving licence and sent that away with the photo card part. New docs came through a week later!

Do you have to send the V5 away too?
