I want the buggy to be 100% legit which means insuring it as a buggy with an engine conversion but I'm having no luck

I've spoken to Footman James, Lexham and Adrian Flux who all specialise in this sort of thing but when I mention the engine they dont like it..

Adrian Flux did quote me (£220 fully comp) but when I pushed them for the quotation in writing listing the engine they got funny and I know how they love to pull a fast one!

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've always been insured with Sky in the past for modified cars, I've sent them an email but I doubt they'll cover it.

Think you will have to SVA it anyway but that's nothing major. Possibly a engineers report buy again nothing major. Then kit car insurance. Shouldn't be alot tbh.

It not applicable for an SVA, and SVA's dont exist any more.. Its applicable for an MSVA because it weighs less than 400kg but its already road-registered and not modified enough to warrant an MSVA.. Insurers would expect an engineers report but that still doesnt help matters that I cant get a quote

This is true. Our "7" kitcar is going to be ready for IVA soon. Its a proper CUNT. Really strict. Not looking forward to it.

Told my Dad to find someone who'll take a backhander

Tbh tho we shouldn't have any major issues, but i'm certain there will be some small issues to sort out. Ours will be the first Birkin to go through the new IVA too.

TBH that kit car looks amazing. How fast does it go? Are they reliable? And how much could I pick one up for?

IVA is expensive and strict but so long as you do everything right you'll be fine.

Ste's Robin Hood failed first time but they give you the full list of what is wrong and what you need to do so sort it, passed no worries on the re-test.

Main problem with that buggy is some of the factory fittings probably wouldn't pass.
