I played Pitch & Putt somewhere?? Keswick? Ambleside? Wasn't Bowness because we didn't go there.
Went Youth Hostelling when I was 16/17 with my mates to the lakes.
Keswick/Ambleside/Kendal.
Did it a few years running.

What type of thing do you wanna do in York?
If it's a nice few days you can do boat trips on the river or just walk up/down it for a bit.
Hundreds of bars to sit outside and have a pint etc.
History/Art Museum, walk around the wall (takes a few hours and is nice on a hot day), York Dungeon.
Failing that just cinema and/or shopping?

Come on Marc. York has literally hundreds of awesome pubs and you have picked out chain bars like Yates, Vokda revs and Slug and Lettuce?!

I think York has around 300 pubs in total. Fuck off the chain pubs and have a wander, there are some awesome ones.
You have all the usually touristy stuff like the walls, dungeon, viking centre, boat tours etc. Museum gardens will be nice for a stroll around if there weather is like this.
York is a lovely city.
