Was out in my x16xe corsa last night and noticed smoke coming from underneath the bonnet,I quickly pulled over to find that my oil cap burst off and there was oil everywhere.....what could have caused this?..I put more oil in and the car seems to be running fine and the levels are sound.however there is still smoke coming from underneath the bonnet,could that just be the oil that went everywhere burning with the heat of the engine?

Old oil burning off.
Cap may of been put on loose last time. Do it up tight and drive per normal

I'd say it as old oil burning off, you'd be able to smell it though?

your rocker cover breathers not blocked could make under the rocker cover pressurized causing the oil cap to blow off.....
the oil as said above will be excess oil burning off lol
