depends entirely on the route your planning to take the car. if your building a track car, there are plenty of threads in the Projects & Builds section of the site with 1.6 engines.. but you'll probably see a running trend where most of them have upgraded to 2.0L. just be prepared to part with alot of cash whatever you choose

If its a Corsa which I'm presuming it is go for something that has been done a few times and you can't go wrong as there's plenty of info about. C20XE and C20LET are quite common conversions, plenty of power for your bucks. Or if your not after that much power then theres the X14 and X16.
Theres obviously plenty of other engines that will go in but they will cost a lot more dosh and isn't as much info around.

12000cc 550bhp derestricted lorry engine in the back tbh. few tuning mods remap 800bhp. renault and volvo tend to be good ones.
