Is it worth paying the extra for a Vxr over an Sri? It seems like you could get a decent Sri & tune/kit it out to look & match with a few tuning mods. Is it just me who thinks this or do other people think the same?

To buy an Sri turbo then mod it to the same spec as a vxr would end up being more hassle and cost much the same as buying a vxr

yeah but then you would just have a vxr, whereas you could have a modded sri that would be modded to how you want it (i.e your own style)

But then you would just have a done up sri, you would always pull up beside a vxr and gently weep into your hands and wonder why your life has whent down the shiter quick style

Are the sri engines not the same as the vxr one only its detuned? Read somewhere that you can re-map it to the same power as a vxr? So if this is true would it still not cost less just to buy an sri and re-map it?

It's not quite that simple, read the first reply. I think there might be a thread here somewhere about the work involved.
