Ideas for this weekend, going Friday night, returning Sunday. We were going to head to Chester but its the races and like fuck am I paying £140 for a Travel Lodge.
Must have good places to eat and something to do on Saturday day time and be within 2 hours of Stoke.

budget isn't too tight I just refuse to pay £140 for a hotel which is normally £50

no, no walking/cycling/sailing - just something to see and do. We were going to hit up Chester Zoo but Chester is out of the question.
I was thinking Nottingham and do the Robin Hood tour or Castle etc. so something along those lines

Don't come to the Lakes then.
York is alright actually. Could spend a day there walking round the wall being told ghost stories, drinking in tea rooms etc.
Get Jonny to come and meat you.

Stratford Upon Avon/Warwick
Warwick Castle is pretty cool.
And Stratford is nice. Birthplace of Shakespere too.
