How much influence does your occupation have on insurance quotes? Reason being is when I queried a quote for an Evo, the woman told me it was my occupation that determined that particular quote. What you lot think?

It does actually, luckily I class myself as a computer technician which is fairly low risk, as is my mum as an admin assistant.
Dad being a marketing manager though isn't so good apparently

When I sorted my Mortgage protection at the end of last year, we ran the quotes several times with several different occupations as my job didn't really fall into one catagory. We tried, Engineer, Designer, Offshore, Marine Engineer, etc. etc. and the quotes varied by upto 50%.
