Split the mirror from the base plate. This is best done by holding the mirror against yourself, glass inwards, and pushing down on the base plate.
It's only a push fit and they're designed to fail on impact but they're fairly tight and will probably need a shock.
Be careful not to pull the two parts apart completely as there's a retaining strap which will stay connected.
Pull back the rubber cover...
...to reveal the wiring shroud.
This is pushed outwards to rise it off the clip, then the wiring can be removed from the base plate.
Next job is to separate the painted portion from the rest of the assembly.
These clips are very fragile and need a pinch to get them small enough to return back through the hole.
When that is free, the two parts will separate.
Be careful not to damage the painted portion, or to stress the thin section of cover which joins the two sides.
Compromise both sides and the outer cover will slide off.
