I have one consignment that's due to be delivered to me this morning, and another one on Tuesday.
Both shipments were sent from the same address on the same day - although one I paid specifically for Saturday delivery the other was not.
They have both arrived at the local depot at the same time together but only one is coming out to me today.
Surely courier companies would save time, money and fuel by delivering consignments together that they have received at their depot on the same date? Just makes no sense to me, especially when the likes of DHL etc. charge you extra "fuel surcharges"?

They proberbly have loads of drops in your area so wont save much fuel if any as the driver wont really need to go out of his way

I asked the driver this morning, he said that they keep saturday and next working day deliveries in different cages in the depot after they've been sorted by their 'hub'.

Did you get the service you paid for?

I'm not moaning about the service, I'm just saying I'd have thought they would save money (and potentially passing those savings on to the customer) by delivering items at the same time as in my example above.

they are a business. i see what you're saying but they aren't going to do you a favour are they?
they will have loads of parcels to drop off in your area and will more than likely be the same on tuesday.

It's the same as first and second class post. They both arrive at the same place at the same time...
