Stick it in a bowl of brown rice, it draws the moisture out. Give it a day or two first then check if it works.

What's the HD stand for? High Dive?

I'd have left it longer m8, removed the battery etc.. before attempting to switch it back on again. It could be buggered now though. You may be able to get a replacement screen off ebay but you have no way of knowing if it will work when it's replaced.

It might work for a while but because you switched it on too soon, it just takes 1 drop of moisture between two contacts and thats it.

The screen is one thing, its the board/phone i would be worried about. Still no harm in just seeing how you get on, might have 12months left in it yet, might die tommorow!

You can't replacement screens for about 80 quid. Personally I would turn it off and let it dry out for a few mote days. Replacing the screen is a right mission as well. If its an I.France job losing it will be your only way as I'm sure if you smash it up they will be able to tell if its water damaged through litmus paper (so I've been told) in the phone

Sorry, phone was on the piss. You can get replacement screens for around 80. I helped do one on a regular desire and its a complete bitch.

Insurance wise you need to 'lose it' as I have been told although no proof that newer smart phones contain litnus paper that will indicate contact with water. however when a friend broke his iPhone and asked o2 for his imei number they could tell he hadn't used it for 2 months so would advise using it up to the day.

rule 1, dont use heat! you need to allow it to dry naturally with the battery out for a couple of days. as already said in a bowl of rice will help

I don't have insurance on my iPhone4.

If it breaks I'll just buy a new one.
